About Coffee: Change of Ownership

We will be saying farewell to Susan & Colin on Friday 29th Nov 2019.  That will be their last day at About Coffee, Colne.  About Coffee will not be closing, but after Fri, the new owner -Beth Hill- will fully take over.

Firstly, we wish Susan & Colin all the best for the next chapter of their life.  They have painstakingly built up About Coffee from scratch and put a serious about of effort into building the business up into the very successful Coffee shop that it is now. This was a very difficult decision for them -it might be the right choice for them at this time, but we have absolutely no doubt that there will be tears on Fri! After all, this business has been their passion for many years.

Susan told us that they had “about 17 interested parties” since they put the business up for sale.  However, no-one would guarantee that their current staff would be kept on … so they didn’t sell.   They waited until they found someone that would guarantee this. Now that is very refreshing news.

Susan and Colin said,

“As a business we have thrived here in Colne over the past seven years. We have enjoyed the support of our amazing customers and we count you all as friends. We have enjoyed this journey immensely, Along the way we have been lucky to have shared this experience with amazing staff. Thank you.
It has truly surpassed our expectations which have always been high for this fantastic town.

So it is with mixed emotions that we have to say good bye to our shop, as we have passed it on to new owners who will build upon the strengths of our business.

Why? We are not getting any younger and now is time to pass the batten on to the next runner.
We will both be here for the next two days. Friday is our last day….. so if you are on Church Street we would love to see you.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish Beth Hill the new owner of About Coffee every success in the future.”
