Colne in Bloom: Clean up outside Lanlee

Some of the Colne in Bloom volunteers were out and about gardening and cleaning up the flower beds just outside Lanlee on Tue, 4th Dec 2018.

“Bloomers” Alice, Alec and Susan were out in the beds at Lanlee doing a spot of winter gardening and tidying up – a regular occurrence for first Tuesday of the month.  The weather was cold and visibility very foggy – we almost missed them whilst on en route to Colne but we could not resist stopping off for photos and a chat.

Alice didn’t waste any time in ‘reminding’ us that we hadn’t given her the photo’s for the award Daisyfield & Colne in Bloom award presentations that we assisted with at the Town Hall on Nov 21st! That event really is quite an eye opener and gives a great insight into just how wide the community involvement is alongside Colne In Bloom.

This is one example how the consistent work of a few hard-working volunteers can make a massive impact to the visual appearance of the local area.
