Pickup for Pendle out litter picking despite storm Dennis

Volunteers from Pickup for Pendle were out litter picking despite the heavy rain and wind brought by storm Dennis.  Approx a dozen or so volunteers spent several hours tackling an area around Marsden Hall Road South, Nelson.

We missed the group photo, as they were just dispersing by the time we arrived.  There was a huge amount of litter strewn across grassy fields and verges.  The featured picture shows just one of the piles of rubbish – there were at least two piles of rubbish and a whole bunch of re-recyclable materials that the volunteers took to recycling points as they left (using their own vehicles).  A whole bunch of other litter – including a dumped bath – was reported.
